Gamely Games – creators of awesome original games that help people spend more quality time laughing together have donated £10,000 to build an exciting and safe playground in Uganda, where thousands of disadvantaged children will benefit from playful opportunities that support their learning and development for years to come.
Gamely met Play Action during the pandemic. The awesome team at Gamely are all about having fun while doing good so when the opportunity arose to help support Play Action with a playful partnership, they were on hand to get involved and show their support. No strangers to giving, Gamely create eco-friendly and sustainable games, ensuring their games are great for the environment as well as those that play them. They support many charitable organisations and their ethos is all about bringing people together to laugh and have fun. They said,
“Having fun and doing good are at the very core of our business, and we want people to know that when they buy a game from us they’re not only going to get something fantastic that will help them laugh with family and friends, but that they will also be helping us do good in the world in all sorts of other ways.”
With Gamely’s support we’ve been able to build a colourful new playground for children in the Lira community to enjoy. The team have utilised local materials to construct this sustainable playground that will support children and adults alike, becoming a focal point for the community and a place where children can heal from trauma caused by lack of educational opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hear from Gamely Games who are excited to share their love of play with the children of Lira.
Murielle Maupoint, CEO of Play Action International said, “We wanted to support the Lira community in Uganda for the past year. This is a region that is still reeling from school closures – schools were closed for nearly 2 years in Uganda. Gamely Games generous gift will have a profound and long-lasting impact on children in the area, meaning they can access their basis rights and access the childhood and future they deserve.”
