This week was an exciting one as our UK team attended the Vamoos Partner Event in London, and we were awarded with the Biggest Impact award for 2022!
At Play Action, we use the Vamoos app to offer our volunteers an invaluable hub where they can see a countdown to their trip, their itinerary, access important documents and information, fundraising resources, and get to know the other people on their trip, sharing fundraising tips and packing tips as they go! Volunteers can also message the Play Action volunteering team at the push of a button for fast help and advice, and receive notifications directly to their phone for important updates and reminders. Vamoos has truly revolutionised our volunteering programme over the past year.
Since introducing the app, we have tripled our University partners, to now having collaborations with a third of Universities across the UK. Many of them give feedback about the app, the reassurance of it, and the way we have used some features (such as maps, and itinerary) to ensure safety and peace of mind to volunteers parents. Since using Vamoos, we have noticed a significant decrease in questions and concerns, now that volunteers have all their information about their trip in one place.
We are very proud to be a partner of Vamoos and so grateful to receive this incredible award as recognition of the impact that Play Action International has in disadvantaged communities across East Africa.
