Travelling over to Ghana in 2016 was Sorcha’s first experience of visiting Africa, and ever since she wanted to work for a charity that aligns with her personal interests and ethics. With a degree in International Politics and English Literature, Sorcha has long been committed to international development work that truly enhances the lives of beneficiaries. Working with Play Action International was perfect for Sorcha, as it gave her not only the chance to work in international development and travel abroad, but also embraced one of her primary interests – educating children through play! A combination of volunteering through scouting and working abroad in China, Canada and beyond, ignited this passion in Sorcha, and one of her favourite parts of her job is seeing the impact Play Action has over in East Africa. She can’t wait to take over the next cohort of volunteers!
