Iona has travelled Africa extensively and witnessed first-hand the impact international volunteering can have on the communities over there. After an adventure from Cape Town to Cairo, particularly falling in love with East Africa, she knew that she wanted to pursue a job that incorporated this incredible continent, in an ethical and sustainable way. Iona has a degree in Zoology, and has experience working in the volunteer travel industry, she is now excited to work as a Volunteer Coordinator with Play Action International, overseeing the amazing volunteers on their life-changing adventures to East Africa. Iona can often be found outdoors, exploring new places and trying to escape the city life as much as possible – she is therefore incredibly excited to get out and join our volunteers in East Africa next summer!
